1st Communications is committed to making all of our websites as accessible as possible for all users.
We have introduced a number of specific features to make it easier for people with disabilities to use the site:
Access keys
Access keys allow you to quickly navigate to key sections within the site using a keyboard instead of a mouse.
PC users can activate the link by pressing ALT + the access key. Mac users can activate the link by pressing Control + the access key.
The following access keys are available for use on our site:
Links
We have endeavoured to write links that make sense out of context and provided attributes to describe the link.
Images
All content images have descriptive alt tags which display when images are switched off and can be read by screen readers.
Font Sizes
Fonts within the site are scalable by browsers to the users preferred size.
PDFs
The site uses PDF files to display content such as product brochures. If your screen reader software is not compatible with the free Adobe Reader, you can use a free online tool which converts the content of PDF files to a format which can be understood by most screen reader applications.
We are hoping to reduce the use of PDFs on the site in the future and are planning to introduce accessible HTML wherever possible.
We want to make sure that our site meets the needs of all our users so please contact us if you would like to give feedback about our site and how wecouldimprove upon it.
